MYCA Is An Offshoot Of Liverpool Social Yorùbá Club Association
The new association embraced the word ‘Merseyside’ as opposed to ‘Liverpool’ in order to spread the membership catchment area and this has paid dividends with subscribed members from Liverpool, Skelmersdale, Wirral, Southport, Prescot and Sefton.
The association in adhering to its set objectives refocused on self-help and supporting each other while promoting family values that are prevalent within the Yorùbá culture.

The Merseyside Yorùbá Community Association (MYCA) holds monthly meetings on the first Saturday of the month with the exception of January when we have a family day.
The months of August and September are usually dedicated to MYCA Gala Night when we raise funds for the association while promoting different aspects of our culture.
MYCA has a strong connection with other Yorùbá associations in Manchester and the Midlands and is a founding member of the Yorùbá network otherwise known as ‘Ẹgbẹ́ Ìbílẹ̀ Ọmọ Yorùbá’. The Yorùbá network holds quarterly meetings rotated between Birmingham, Manchester, and Liverpool.

Our Membership
MYCA membership is open to any Yoruba person living within Merseyside. The association is unique with no political or religious bias. The welfare of MYCA members is a priority, with a particular interest in the health of our elderly members.
The majority of MYCA members have also subscribed members of the Nigerian Community Association (NCA), Liverpool. NCA is the umbrella organization for all Nigerians in Liverpool.
As a voluntary organization, MYCA is registered on the correspondence list of Liverpool Charity and Voluntary Service (LCVS) and our representatives do routinely attend the welfare committee meeting organized by LCVS.
